PDA’s 8th Annual Disability Education Conference is in the Books

We held our 2017 Disability Education Conference on May 4th and May 5th at The Regency Hotel in Portland, Maine. This invitation only conference is designed to assist PDA clients, clinical consultants, employees and partners in better understanding the clinical, vocational, and claim management aspects of group disability.

This event is a great opportunity for our clients, consultants and staff to network with other industry experts.

The 2017 agenda was packed with medical professionals, including physicians specializing in Neurology, Occupational Medicine, Psychology and Pain Medicine. Speakers also included attorneys, a vocational specialist and an expert in predictive modeling.

“This was my first PDA Conference and it was amazing! Speakers were engaging. All aspects of the conference can be applied to my role...”

The agenda included:

  • The Future of HealthCare & its Impact on Disability
  • Effective Return to Work
  • Non-Exertional Impairments & Restrictions
  • Predictive Modeling
  • Integrating SSDI Data into Disability Review
  • Occupational Effects of Medications
  • Non-Opioid Pain Treatment
  • Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue
  • Migraines
  • Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement

“The pain management and migraine headache talks were some of the best I have heard on these topics."

The attendee list included VPs, Attorneys, Medical Directors, Physicians, Nurses, Claim Managers, Vocational Rehab Counselors and other insurance professionals.

Continuing education credits were available for those with MD, DO, PA, RN, Psychology, Case Management and Vocational Rehabilitation credentials.

"With each passing year, we learn more about how best to deliver the most relevant industry information at our two day conference and 2017 may have been our most successful one yet. With a roster of exceptional speakers, and an enthusiastic audience, there were countless learning and networking opportunities for our attendees. We’ve now had time to analyze the successes, and areas for opportunity, from this year’s event and are working on making 2018 even better." -Al Hemond, PDA CEO
